The Diversity Simulation Program

> "We need to get to a place where we discuss privilege by way of observation and acknowledgement rather than accusation." — Roxane Gay, Bad Feminist

Real conversations about bias, exclusion, and conflict — practiced in a simulated environment first, so they go better when they happen at work.

Why Simulation?

Every organization wants to "have the conversation" about diversity and inclusion. Almost nobody knows how to run it without it going sideways: people get defensive, leaders retreat to talking points, and the session ends with everyone exhausted and nothing changed.

A simulation changes the dynamic. Your team steps into a realistic workplace scenario — structured and facilitated by Dr. Kortney Peagram — where the stakes are simulated but the skills are real. Participants practice:

The Program

The flagship Diversity Simulation Program is a half-day experience. Employees interact with a series of facilitators portraying real-life situations related to your organization — surfacing assumptions, stereotypes, and implicit and unconscious bias in a trusting, open, psychologically safe space. Participants work on identifying their assumptions, addressing and overcoming biases, and building best practices for communication, trust, and teamwork — and walk away with strategies and tools they can apply immediately. The program is custom-designed to your organizational needs.

How It Works

Pre-brief — we scope the scenarios to your workplace: your industry, your team dynamics, your pressure points.

Simulation — the experiential core: facilitators portray real-life situations while participants practice naming bias, holding uncomfortable conversations, and recovering when an exchange goes badly.

Debrief & application — the most important hour: what happened, what it felt like, and the best practices participants carry straight back to the workplace.

Format (first-party, per the live program page): ½-day flagship simulation; recommended session length of 1–2 hours per topic for companion modules. Virtual availability and group-size limits are not published on the live site — confirm with Kortney before stating them.

Companion Programs

The simulation anchors a suite of diversity sessions, each 1–2 hours per topic:

Implicit and Unconscious Bias Training 101 — a 2-hour interactive program using case studies and small-group discussion to identify typical workplace bias trends and build communication best practices.
Diversity Training: Gender Identity and Expression — a 2-hour session on terminology, discrimination law, and transition statements; practicing open, inquisitive questions instead of passing judgment.
Diversity Target Program — a series of 1–3 hour experiential sessions (discussions, activities, debrief, application) scaled to participants and desired outcomes. Sample activities: Cross the Line, Spectrum, Privilege Walk, Walk in My Shoes, Diversity Quest.
Intent vs Impact: Addressing Challenging Situations — a 2-hour sensitivity training on triggers, resentment, and difficult conversations; building the habit of assuming positive intent.
D&I Empowerment Circle — offered on the live program page; format details not yet captured (confirm with Kortney).
